Picaboo vouchers - Beware!
I have to say, the print quality of my soft cover book is quite good. In retrospect, the actual cost I paid plus the shipping was worth the money for my booklet.
It is the advertising that I find to be deceptive and is the only thing I am truly unhappy with. The voucher for a $45 book for only $18 sounds too good to be true, and in reality it was.
The hard cover book was much more than $45 and shipping was not included. If Picaboo would advertise the soft cover book for $18 plus shipping I would have purchased it without the phony voucher stuff.
I got my sample soft cover booklet today and I MUST update my review. I stated, incorrectly, that the Picaboo logo was stamped on their books, based on a different review I read online.
My book does not have any Picaboo logo or name stamped on it whatsoever! I apologize for my error!
I am extremely dissatisfied with Picaboo! I decided to buy an $18 voucher for a $45 11" x 9" standard book.
I hoped to create a sample book for my small photography business. When I went to order the book (that I spent hours to lay out) the price of the standard book with a hard cover was $69! For a soft cover (paperback) it was $25. I went to use my voucher for $45 to pay for a soft cover $25 book and they wanted a credit card because my tax and shipping could not be paid with the voucher!
BEWARE! Also, don't try to use Picaboo to create a photo book for a photography client.
They put their logo on your book whether you like it or not! They charge you to advertise for them!
Reason of review: Deceptive advertising.
Monetary Loss: $18.
Picaboo Cons: Deceptive voucher promotion.
